Grasshopper Adventures was founded in a small wooden house in the backpacker area of Bangkok in 2004.

As we celebrate 15 years of bike touring in Asia we’re eager to share all the new travel innovations our team has been hard at work developing for the coming season.
 
It’s our pleasure to introduce an exciting new range of tours to the region, that feature more time in each location, so less packing and unpacking and more time enjoying your vacation! Along with this, we’ve developed increased flexibility in ride options, so you can pick the challenge that fits you perfectly.
 
We are also thrilled to announce our new Bike & Boat tours, our most inclusive tours yet! These active cruise adventure trips can accommodate non-cycling partners or friends, with a range of alternative off-bike options for those who don’t wish to ride. In addition to only unpacking once on the boat, these innovative tours include everything you love about a Grasshopper Adventures trip.
 
Bike & Boat expeditions are now available across four countries, exploring three legendary rivers in Asia, the Mekong, Brahmaputra, and the River Kwai – we’d recommend them for both first-time travelers and seasoned Grasshopper veterans.
 
Another game-changer is the introduction of e-bikes as an optional add-on across a range of locations, that includes: Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and counting… Our pedal-assist e-bikes ride and handle like a regular bike, but amplify your pedal stroke to the desired degree, when it’s needed. This can ease strain when climbing, heighten the pace or simply extended your comfortable range, allowing you to enjoy the scenery rather than worry about the route.
